Question #1:

Why is males wearing makeup (other than corrective makeups) considered to be drag?

I'm curious why wearing liners, shadows etc. on a guy is considered to be drag... it's not like makeup was made for a women's body, whereas things like bras and corsets are....

I especially don't get how it's considered drag if it's just noirs...

Question #2:

Are there any shows on makeup you know of, online or on TV?

I really want to get into artistic makeup; do you happen to know of any television/webshows that show you how to do makeup? I'm not really looking for tutorials for specific looks, but rather guides on getting better into artistic makeup. The closest thing I watch right now is What Not To Wear, but those aren't very in depth and it's usually just corrective makeup anyways.

Question #3:

What's a good makeup starter pack for a guys glam/punk/scene look?

Hey,

I'm a guy, I'm gay, and would love 2 get into makeup.

anyways, what would be the beginners must have kit for makeup? I like really heavy makeup like andy sixx, dahvie vanity, maybe even jeffree star

So yes, I like heavy black liner, and my favorite eyeshadow colors are silvers and deep blues. So what's all the makeup I need to get super intense eyes, along with some skin-corrective stuff?

Thanks ^^ I'd prefer to spend $50 or under

Question #4:

advice advice advice?

I am in a makeup course 3 weeks in now and I love it. But last lesson I was paired with this girl to put fake eyelashes on each other. She did mine first and I was quiet and chatted to her as well but when it came to my turn to do her lashes she got really corrective on everything i did and didn't give me a chance to even try and she was going on how shes done it before and told me to get the teacher to teach me how to do it again, i knew what i was doing but it was the first time i had done it. She embarrassed me in front of the teacher and the teacher questioned me if i had listened when she was explaining and so on and even after that my partner was still being very judgemental on how under skilled i was I felt like crap and was so blind to her insults. my friend who was next to me was furious at how rude my partner was to me. I tried to take her comments to be helpful but they were not enforced in that way and everyone i have been with finds her to be very rude and annoying and i didnt want to believe that but when i was paired with her she gave me every reason to believe everyone else.

how do i react to this girl from now on I am really stressed and I want to impress my teacher i feel every hurt from that last lesson advice please anything.

Question #5:

Has anyone else experienced this with Bare Minerals?

Last winter, my aunt introduced me to Bare Minerals foundation make up. I liked how it felt on my skin, when I wore it, but I hated how the brush irritated my skin when I applied it. Still, I continued to use it. As I continued to use it, I noticed that I began to break out. I have never had acne as a teenager, but this past year, my face is suddenly getting so out of control. I've always worn a little bit of liquid foundation and powder and have never had any problems. In fact, I had really smooth porcelain looking skin before all this, which makes me so frustrated right now.
After breaking out so much, I decided to stop wearing foundation altogether and only wear a bit of concealer on really bad spots, and my face has been getting a lot better. Today, for some reason I felt like wearing all over foundation and all I had was my bare minerals so I decided to give it another shot. At the end of the day when I washed off my make-up, my face was covered in red spots and I had a whole bunch of new blemishes poppin up again. I don't know what to do, and I am now so convinced that it's the mineral make up causing these flare ups. I've always heard good stuff about bare minerals, so why has it caused me so much grief?

Also, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what foundations to try that will cover up red spots that works good with dry sensitive acne prone skin? I've tried using green tinted color corrective makeup, I've tried yellow and all they do is make me look sick. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Question #11:

im fairly light skinned, and after years of wearing glasses, i would like to get contacts, just one problem..?

i have very nice blue eyes if i may say so with sounding too cocky, lol. but all these years they have been hidden behind glasses. for the past couple of months, ive been feeling like its totally pointless to even apply my eye makeup, because i feel like no one can even notice how much effort i put into trying to look nice. so ive decided to ditch the glasses, but i have fair skin, and after years of these glasses, i have the poufyness, and purply color that people sometimes are burdened with after wearing them.

i cannot just go without glasses beacause i am legally blind without corrective lenses, so i really need help in covering up years of this damage.

help anyone?

Question #12:

Did anyone else notice this about McCain...?

Okay, this is completely irrelevant to the issues in the election, but I just have to ask..

Did anyone else notice McCain extreme corrective stage makeup at the debates?

It was easy to spot that McCain's makeup artist had used "facelift tape" at the corners of the forehead to lift the eyes and jowls, and had then plastered over the tape with latex "skin" and foundation to disguise it.

The trained eye can see this because while the middle of his forehead is still completely wrinkled, the top part and sides where the latex is are totally smoothed over.

I'm just curious as to why anyone would feel the need to go to such extremes.

Thoughts?
Uh, I'm sorry. I do wear makeup, and so does everyone on TV, but they don't TAPE their faces and then PLASTER over them with latex.

That to me says there is something major that McCain is trying to cover up.

I guess that explains that $5,000 makeup artist.

Question #13:

is coverblend corrective leg and body makeup available in the philippines? if so what's the name of the store?

Question #14:

Would this be okay to use on my skin?

Tomorrow is pictures day. i don't have any acne breakouts but I do have some scarring left over [ PIH] so I bought a cover creme: cream corrective. It says that it conceals spots, scars, & dark circles. It is from the company Posner. It says it is oil free, hypoallergenic and water resistant. frangrance free and smudge resistant. It is specially made for women of color like myself. I have been using benzaclin prescribed by my dermatologist as acne medication and it has worked really quickly. I know that some makeup may clog pores and cause more acne. But should this be okay to apply. The back of it says dermatologist recommended but I'm still unsure. I really don't wanna breakout on picture day. =/

Question #15:

Question #16:

Green makeup primer?

So i was at sephora, and i saw the green corrective primer from Make Up For Ever. The tester worked wonders for me, whereas the Smashbox primer left my fingers feeling greasy for a long time and didn't work well at all. Anyways, other than Smashbox and Make Up For Ever, is there any other companies that make a green primer to reduce redness?

Question #17:

What do girls think?

I think that girls are not attractive because of the quantity of makeup they wear but because of the quality of it. I hate very noticeable makeup. My idea is that daylight is for corrective makeup and nightime and special events are for more noticeable makeup. I hate the idea of kissing too much makeup while the idea of bare skin sounds much more attractive to me. Why is western culture so obsessed with makeup? The less the better. I think girls just leaving the shower with a soft cologne are far more attractive than a girl with too many colors and lines in her face. You agree with me? Believe me, if mother nature had intended to make the human female with a palette of colors in her face it would be so. But the human face is to be admired for its real beauty. I would love girls to hear girls comment on my very outlandish stand toward makeup.

Question #18:

Skin Reaction?

So I went to get a facial yesterday. I've been to the place before, but I upgraded my treatment so it included some extra corrective stuff for my face. Something in the new treatment must not have worked for my face. Now it's all dry and itchy. When I put on makeup, or put on my moisturizer at night it burns so bad. There was also some redness on my cheeks under my eyes this morning, I think it was from that. My question is what should I do about this?

Question #19:
